Bus Fire Epidemic
August, 2008. A dark shadow was cast over Fiji when the lives of 10 people were lost in a single bus fire. Among the dead, was a pregnant woman and her two sons.
The memory of that loss still reverberates in the back of our minds when we see the trend of bus fires starting to pick up again.

For the past few months, bus fires have been making the headlines and watching the footage below, concerns are rising on a repeat of 2008. What's happening to our buses?
Is it the state of our roads? Neglecting maintenance?
Maybe it's the electronics in the buses (hint e-ticking, hint) but that's all just speculation.
This is the prominent mode of transportation for the people of Fiji, with about 70 lives in one vehicle. The latest news on these bus fires: buses from the Nasese bus company will be grounded, effective at 4pm today. Land Transport Authority (LTA) will be carrying out a full audit on the buses to (hopefully) determine the exact cause of all these mishaps.
I hope everyone's following these events, considering the devastating outcome of the situation if it is wrongly diagnosed.
No more loss of life, we want to feel safe when travelling around in a public transport vehicle.
